Fragments
A series of illustrations from my thesis project called fragments — a sentiment to some of the most significant people in my life.
"Fragments was drawn, folded, and stitched together with you in mind. A collection of stories, individually written and illustrated, out of sequence, all curated to create a whole.
As each story unfolds, I am hopeful to have created a space that is open for unexpected discoveries. Not to be afraid of unraveling to make way for something new again. To continually await as each incomplete, broken detail conspires to become coherent altogether."
"Two parts of my extra limbs..."
Recognizing the similarities between branches and human limbs, the concept of growth is presented to be questioned and challenged.
A series of animal studies composed of land, air, and sea creatures. Similar to most of my subject pieces, each animal is floating in white space allowing the viewer to create their own narrative.
"A gesture of hope."
Details inspired by neighbourhoods and houses in the Philippines.
